In Term 2, a group of our Geography students tested their geographical skills and knowledge against students from all around Australia in the 2019 Australian Geography Competition.
HSIE Head Teacher, Mrs McShane recently received the results and is very pleased with how our students performed in our first year of entering students in this competition.
“We have had a number of student geographers at our school who performed at a very high level in the competition, with 4 students gaining High Distinctions, 8 students achieving Distinctions and 7 students achieving Credits.”
Over 73,500 students from 792 schools from all educational sectors across Australia entered the Australian Geography Competition so these results give us an external validation that our students are right up there with our geographical education.
