Principal's Message 15 May 2020

Principal's Message in text plus school logo

It was wonderful to see students back in the classroom this week as part of our staged return to on-campus learning. A huge effort has been made to implement new cleaning regimes, schedule students to meet class size restrictions and ensure students have access to devices to support the continuity of their learning.

Thank you to families for supporting us with the staggered return by only sending students on their allocated day. This greatly assists us to meet class size restrictions and maintain a safe environment for staff and students. We understand that students may wish to come on additional days to reconnect with friends and teachers, however please continue to keep your child at home to learn except for the day they are rostered on to come to school.*

If your child has their own learning device or have borrowed a school device, please ensure your child brings it on the day they are at school, along with their headphones, pencil case, recess and lunch and any additional items requested by their teachers.

Below are some reminders for students from our deputies and head teachers for the remainder of Phase 1. Please flag them with your child so we can continue to implement the staged return in an organised and measured manner:

  •  Check the school Facebook page or website for reminders about your rostered day of attendance at school.
  •  If you have borrowed a laptop from school you need to bring it to school on your rostered day. We have a limited number of additional loan laptops for those students who do not have their own. To ensure fair access to these devices we will issue them each morning to students from the house group who are scheduled on that day first and then to students of essential workers. If you already have one issued from the school you will not be issued with another one for the day. All loan devices are sanitised at the end of each day.
  • If you have a PE or PASS practical lessons on your rostered day, please go to the MPC and place your bags and laptops on the stage. All sporting equipment is sanitised at the end of each lesson and you will be asked to sanitise your hands before and after each lesson.
  • If you have your own device that requires connecting to our network, please see Mrs Brown in the library from 8.20am each morning.
  • The canteen remains closed until Week 5 so please bring your own recess and lunch.

For a reminder of Phase 1 arrangements at our campus please refer to Week 4 Phase 1 Return Guidelines

Again, thank you to our school community for your ongoing support. Please don’t hesitate to contact the school if you have any further questions, or contact individual teachers about specific work concerns.

Kind regards,

Hayley

*School remains open for all students of essential workers every day, as well as for families who have a special need or reason to attend school every day.  Please contact the school to let us know of this special need so we can adjust our planning.
