Double, double toil and trouble in the classroom

In Year 10 English, two of our classes have been studying Macbeth. To enhance their learning and gain a deeper understanding of the play, these classes recently participated in an immersive experience of acting out a prominent scene.

Complete with fog machine, wardrobe and their best acting skills, students were transported back in time, with our group performing a scene centred around the death of Duncan.

By doing this, words came to life and students were left with a deeper understanding of the play, who was responsible for Duncan’s death and our character’s motives.Reading the words on a page is one thing, but understanding through an activity like this is another.

A big thank you to Ms Panozza who organised this learning initiative for our Year 10 English students. When learning comes off the page and to life, our students can gain a deeper understanding of their studies.
