Welcoming Year 6 students from our partner primary schools to a day of high school taster lessons and fun. Partner primary teachers will also have an opportunity to meet with our Year 7 Deputy Principal and Learning and Support Teachers and share information to aid students' smooth transition to high school. Partner primary schools attending transition day 1: Mayfield East PS, Mayfiled West PS, Islington PS, Tighes Hill PS, Tighes Hill PS and Shortland PS.

All students are expected to participate in this fun-filled event and parents and supporters are welcome to attend. Cost: $5 (payable on the day). Transport: Buses will depart school at 8:45am and be return to school by 2:55pm. Students also have the option of travelling to and from the venue via private transport. Rolls will be marked at the athletics track at the start and the finish of the day. Events include: long jump, high jump, discus, shot put, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m. There will also be relay race against the teachers if time permits. What to wear: wear clothing and footwear which is appropriate for participation in track and field events. Thongs and sandals are not permitted. Please bring sunscreen and a hat. Canteen: There is a canteen available at the centre, however it is advisable that students bring food and drinks from home as time for going to the canteen is limited and the queues are often long.

Waratah Campus invites all Year 7 students and their families to attend a Welcome and Information evening. This event will give you a chance to: meet Year 7 staff in person discuss your child's progress receive tips for supporting your child's learning in high school find out more about our laptops for learning (BYOD) program link into our online communication tools, including Canvas and Sentral Parent Portal meet other new parents. Please enter the school via the Harris St gate behind the hall. We look forward to seeing you there!
