In week 8 Waratah Campus celebrated Harmony Week. As one of the most culturally diverse schools in the region it is an important celebration on our school calendar each year.
Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
Our EAL/D Student Leadership team led 2 activities for the school. Team members delivered a whole school assembly with information about the importance of celebrating culture & accepting diversity, as well as a student presentation on the significance of Ramadan & Eid for our Muslim students.
The feature project for Harmony Week was the creation of a “Celebrating Culture” video featuring interviews with students & staff about how they celebrate their culture & why it is important to them. We hope you enjoy this video.
