Hello Year 7 2021!

Our names are Larissa and Abby and we are your Year Advisors for your time at Callaghan College Waratah Campus.

We’re so excited about welcoming you to Waratah Campus and following your learning journeys all the way to our Senior Campus at Jesmond.

Our job as Year Advisors is to make your transition from Primary to High School as smooth as possible.

You can come to us if you’ve got questions, if you’re lost, or you just need some extra support to settle in. Your parents can also contact us if they need us to arrange some extra supports for you.

We know you probably have loads of questions right now, like “where do I go on my first day?” “What do I wear?” What should I pack?” and “when do I get my timetable?”

We’ve put together an Orientation Booklet to answer many of these questions. You’ll receive a copy to take home with you at Orientation Day.

If you’ve still got questions after reading this booklet, please send them through to us using the link on this web page. We will post all the answers right here on our website.

We are really looking forward to meeting you at our Orientation Days next week. Remember to check your permission note for what day students from your school are scheduled to attend.

We’ve put together a great program – you’ll meet our school leaders and teachers, learn to read a timetable, learn about what to do on your first day of Year 7 and get a small taste of learning in high school.

Until then, take care and we'll see you soon.

Larissa Lenton  and Abby Salter

Your questions answered

Q. Are students in the ASPIRE program still receiving a laptop to use in 2021?
A. Yes, that is still the case. We just send all families the BYOD information in case students would prefer to bring their own device.
