Message to Year 7

A very warm welcome to our Year 7 families.

We are excited to be starting the new school year and look forward to welcoming Year 7 for your first day of high school tomorrow.

Below is an outline of some important information to help you get off to a great start at Waratah.

Friday 29 January

• Year 7 students commence the 2021 school year. Students, please meet at the hall at 8:45am for a Welcome Assembly.  Please wear full school uniform and pack paper, pens, recess, lunch and a drink bottle. You will receive your timetable during the day so you will know what to pack for next week. The school day finishes at 2:55pm.
• Parents and carers of Year 7 will be allowed on the school site to drop your children to the hall provided you follow physical distancing and hygiene measures implemented by the school and the department. You will be asked to sign in using a QR code at the Harris St and Turton Rd entries. We encourage families to use the Harris St entry behind the school for drop off and pick up on day 1. Once your child is in the hall, we ask that parents leave the school site. Unfortunately, families will not be able to join us for the Welcome Assembly this year due to COVID-19 physical distancing guidelines for schools.
• Our Administration Office will be open from 8:00am to 3:30pm. We ask parents to make any payments online (if possible) and to phone the school for general enquiries to help us minimise the number of visitors to the office on day 1.

Monday 1 February

• All students return to school. Arrive at school by 8:45am and move promptly to roll call in the hall when the bell rings at 8:45am. Year 7 students, please sit in alphabetical order in the roll call group you were allocated into on day 1. You will participate in lessons as per your timetable. School finishes at 2:10pm on Mondays.

Tuesday 2 February - Year 7 Welcome Evening and BBQ
