Introducing our Aboriginal Student Leadership Team 2021
15 Feb 2021
On the 15 February 2021, our new Aboriginal Student Leadership Team was introduced to our school in a formal leadership induction ceremony.
The team, consisting of twenty proud Aboriginal students from Year 8-10, will join our Student Representative Council to represent the voices of students in school decision making. In addition, the team will be responsible for positively influencing our school's culture, representing our school in our community and supporting partner primary students in their transition to high school.
"Leadership comes in many forms," said Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer, Darren Woodhouse. "Some leaders are great communicators and others lead by their actions."
Both Mr Woodhouse and Miss Milat will be mentoring the group throughout the year and had the privilege of introducing the leaders to our school community:
We wish these students all the best in their leadership responsibilities and look forward to sharing more about their initiatives throughout the year.
