26 Apr 2021
On the 26 April 2021 we commemorated Anzac Day with a special campus service led by our School Captains.
ANZAC Day is a day for all Australians, regardless of religion, racial background or even place of birth. It is a day to commemorate the bravery and self-sacrifice of the past. It is a day to acknowledge the selflessness of all those who have been prepared to lay down their lives for Australia, so that it can be a place of freedom and peace for all of us today.
On ANZAC Day we also thank and recognise those who served in the first and second world wars, Korea, Malaya, Vietnam and more recently, Cambodia, Somalia, Rwanda, the Persian Gulf, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Iraq and Afghanistan – a very important war to remember today, as our troops in Afghanistan prepare to bring their service to an end and come home.
ANZAC Day is a day to honour the men and women who worked, fought, loved and lived during the years of many wars, across many generations. It is a time to remember and grieve for someone in your family or your community who gave their life whilst in service. It is a time to be thankful that we are a country who lives in peace.
It is a time to say "Lest we forget”."
A special thank you to our Captains, Jake, Ariana, Ruby, our Campus Vocal Group, student leaders, Mr Range and Jo McDougall for helping to make the service so special.
