Waratah Campus warmly welcomed Year 4, 5, and 6 staff and students from Islington Public School when their school became non-operational for 3 weeks due to the recent fire at Wickham.
It was wonderful to see their smiling faces around our school and to witness their resilience and flexibility in response to this unexpected event.
Ms Macdonald was delighted to receive 50 letters, as well as a video at the end of their stay thanking our school community for our hospitality.
Letters of thanks
"The last few weeks have been quite memorable and I will be sad to leave. My students have loved the new environment. They have gained so much confidence out of this experience and I can confidently say that every one of my Year 6 students want to come to Waratah." - Mr Thompson
"Thank you for having us at Callaghan. I really like the wide range of books you have in your library and the canteen food is the best. I really wish I didn't have to go." - Ted
